Killer of Jennifer Hudson’s Family Speaks Out For The First Time

Killer of Jennifer Hudson’s Family Speaks Out For The First Time

No one can forget back in 2008 as Jennifer Hudson’s star was steadily rising, her mother and brother was found murdered inside of their home in the South Side of Chicago. Her 7-year old nephew was abducted and found shot to death in an SUV days later. Now for the first time the family’s killer, William Balfour is speaking out about the murders.
Jennifer Hudson’s former brother-in-law, William Balfour sat down and spoke with ABC7 I-Team from Pontiac, Illinois’s oldest prison where he is currently serving his life sentence among 1,500 of the states most dangerous men.
If there is anything that can be taken away from his interview with the I-Team, it is simply that he wants everyone to know that he is in no way responsible for the murders. He said, “I didn’t have nothing to do with the case and don’t know who had anything to do with the case.”
Although he claims to not have any involvement with the murders, police evidence seems to say other wise. The keys for the SUV where Jennifer’s 7-year old nephew was discovered, was found in the pockets of Balfour. Also gun residue had been found on his clothing, as well as on his car steering wheel. Witnesses also said they seen him with the gun used in the murders.
According to Balfour he believes this is all a conspiracy and that he was set up. Back in 2008 his estranged wife Julia testified against him where she recalls him threatening to kill her family.
When asked why should people believe him now after all of this time, he responded, “I mean it’s up to them to make sense out of it. Because if you make a statement and the statement don’t add up to the way the murders happen – then it’s a problem. That’s reasonable doubt.”
At the time of his arrest, he was on parole for attempted murder, which happened back in 1992. His record also consists of other arrests stemming back to the age of 14.
