College Professor in Philly Claps Back at Drake with Fierce Classroom Freestyle

The war of words between Drake and Meek Mill – prideful natives of Toronto and Philadelphia respectively – has spilled over to an all-out regional dispute,
with Drizzy in particular taking several jabs at Meek’s hometown over the course of the past year regarding the countless number of perceived losses his recent misfortunes have in turn anointed the city as a whole (even seizing the opportunity to remind Kevin Hart during a center-court interview with TNT’s Sage Steele prior to their teams facing off in the NBA All-Star Celebrity Game last weekend).
Clearly this is far from a – shall we say – textbook approach to rap beef, but now the situation has escalated to uncharted territory, as a college professor in Philly is getting himself involved. That’s right: Dr. Aaron X. Smith of Temple University – the self-proclaimed “Rapping Professor” – who teaches an African American Studies class, took it upon himself this week to give Drake a piece of his mind during an acapella performance for his students. Maybe we’ll hear a rebuttal from the Canadian rapper on Views From the 6, although we’re certainly not holding our breath.
