DAVID BECKHAM GETS "PHYSICALLY ILL" WHEN HE HAS TO LEAVE HIS KIDS

By FRANK

Family life suits David Beckham.

As the 40-year-old father of four tells GQ's April issue, he's "secure as a person, as a husband, as a dad." Victoria Beckham's hubby says he's also "gone past the point of really worrying, caring," when tabloids try to find fault in his parenting abilities.

The retired soccer star is very much a hands-on dad. As he tells GQ, he will "get physically ill when I have to leave the kids now."

But as happy as David is spending time with sons BrooklynRomeo and Cruz and daughterHarper,  there's one thing lacking: "I miss soccer every day," he says.

"I don't know whether it's the athlete in me, or the passion I have for the game: I always think that I can step back on the field and play..." he tells GQ. "You know, maybe I could play another year in the U.S. If I was still living in L.A., I'd probably really seriously think about coming back for a year. But we're living in London, and the kids are happy in the school..."

David officially retired from soccer in 2013, but he gets back in the game every now and then. Back in 2015, for example, he brought his "boots back out" to raise funds for UNICEF with a charity game.

As we've seen from multiple shirtless shots, the man stays in excellent shape whether he's playing professionally or not. We wouldn't rule out a soccer career comeback, but only if it fit with the kids' lives, too. Family comes first for the Beckhams.
