A Brooklyn teen indicted for the murder of her mother and her mom’s boyfriend was trying to run away from the alleged abuse she endured at home — and told cops she killed the couple with help from a boyfriend, the Daily News has learned.
Destiny Garcia gave a dramatic play-by-play to authorities several days after she shot and stabbed Rosie Sanchez, 38, and Anderson Nunez, 40, to death.
Garcia, 15, allegedly gave two lengthy statements to law enforcement officials on Jan. 3 and 4 about the Dec. 28 murders.
The first statement had implicated her godbrother Jordan Santiago, but the second removed Santiago from the incident and included her 28-year-old boyfriend Jerry Maisonett as an accomplice.
Garcia told authorities that Sanchez had physically abused her and she planned to run away to live with a cousin.
On Dec. 27, Sanchez caught Garcia with her bags packed. They got into an argument and Sanchez allegedly punched her in the face several times, according to the statement.

Garcia called her boyfriend after the beating — and asked him to get her a gun “for protection.”
The boyfriend allegedly hesitated because of “the baby,” according to the statements. It’s unclear what baby Garcia was referring to.

Sanchez asked the boyfriend to bring the gun to her Batchelder St. apartment in Sheepshead Bay the following day. Maisonett showed up with the gun on Dec. 28.
Garcia grabbed her bags and asked Maisonett to wait in the building hallway.
A police source said Maisonett is not considered a suspect at the moment, but are looking to question him as a result of Garcia’s statements.
Attempts by the Daily News to reach Maisonett were unsuccessful.
The gun was ready to shoot after “Jerry cocked it for her,” she told cops. That’s when Garcia took the piece into her bedroom and placed it in a drawer.
Moments later, Garcia overheard Sanchez and Nunez arguing.

Sanchez allegedly proceeded to go into Garcia’s room, beat her “until she was tired” and then went back to her bedroom.
Garcia initially said Nunez sexually abused her and when she told her mother, it fell on deaf ears. While in custody, she changed her tale, pointing at her mother as the abuser.
Garcia allegedly went into the drawer, grabbed the gun and hid it in the pocket of her hoodie with her hand on the handle the whole time.
According to her story, she walked to her mother’s doorway and fired a single shot. She apparently missed — hitting the dresser behind her mother instead.
After Garcia “readjusted her aim and fired at her mother a second time,” the bullet pierced Sanchez’s neck.
After the second shot rang out, Nunez “threw himself” off the bed as she fired a third bullet.
Nunez then pounced on Garcia, and a struggle for the gun ensued, according to the statements, and she dropped it and screamed for Maisonett.
Maisonett stormed into the apartment, found the gun and shot Nunez in the back, Garcia told authorities.
A bloodied Nunez was still alive and went after Maisonett, Garcia said.
The gun dropped and Garcia picked it up. She tried to fire, but ran out of bullets. She then went to the kitchen and grabbed a knife. That’s when Garcia repeatedly stabbed Nunez — and Maisonett joined in with stabbing.
She told authorities they left the apartment. Garcia told Maisonett she left all the murder weapons behind.
But her beau ran back and took the gun. Maisonett later allegedly confessed to her that he stabbed Sanchez once in the chest before leaving “to make sure she was dead,” according to the statements.
She confessed to her cousin Jason Valentin on Jan. 3, who turned her in to cops.
Garcia allegedly committed the horrendous crime and then went on to celebrate New Year’s Eve at Times Square
